Or you could leave a comment below. I’m going to give twitter a go, but am, frankly, nervous. I like this message board and saying hello in an olde worlde way.

Cheers,

  1. Emma.

I’ve been following your work in Critical. You are exquisitely beautiful, with the most wonderful smile.

Two questions….a) Are you a fan of hardcore punk rock? b) Do you “Tweet”?

The b) question is fairly irrelevant actually, but I’d be interested in following you, if you do. However, if the answer to a) is yes, then you can move in next weekend. I’m decent in the kitchen, and I can get some scented candles and that (not very punk I know, but….)

    Stay lucky,

    Rob. X

    1. Hello Rob,
Oh no, Iโ€™m too shy/dull for twitter and my knowledge of hardcore punk is woeful – I hate being ignorant though, so Iโ€™ve put it on my Good Stuff To Google list (genuinely, itโ€™s on after Clara Bow Films and Byker Grove).
Iโ€™m really glad you liked Critical, I was proud to be a part of it
      ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks for your message โ€“ youโ€™re very kind,
      Emma x

    1. Hi Nathan,

Thank you, I was SO chuffed to be involved in Toast! Innovative, bold, daft and funny – Arthur Mathews and Matt Berry created a pretty special sitcom there.

      Cheers again, Emma x

  2. Hi Emma

i have just watched series 1-3 of Phoneshop in 1 dayon netflix, Loved it, your performance was hilarious, and stole the scene so many times, your comic timing and facial reactions are very very funny, a great character to play no doubt ๐Ÿ™‚

    thanks for laughs

    1. Hello Mark,

What a nice message, thank you! Sorry for the stupidly late reply. Iโ€™m so glad to hear you liked phoneshop โ€“ it was a lovely series to be a part of and yep, I was very fond of Janine. I know there are different schools of thought on binge watching series, but Iโ€™m with you, I think itโ€™s ACE. Now youโ€™ve finished phoneshop, if youโ€™re looking for another workplace comedy and havenโ€™t already seen it, give Parks and Recreation a go โ€“ itโ€™s a thing of beauty.

      Cheers again,

      Emma x

  3. You are the definition on of perfection. You are hilarious in every program you are in, you are sooooo beautiful

    1. Hi James,

Iโ€™m sorry for the horribly late response โ€“ it might seem daft to reply after all this time, but I just wanted to say thanks for your very kind message. I might start chanting it to myself before I go into auditions!

      Cheers again,

      Emma x

  4. just by off chance caught phoneshop on my pad sitting here in bed just after surgery in hospital I laughed so much I split my sides had to be wheeled back in still clutching my pad lol
if I don’t wake up il know I’ve not gone without watching what as got to be the most funniest sitcom ever.
Can’t help but wonder what happened to Janine after the phone shop maybe she ended up as a 18-30 holiday rep in Ibiza ha ha that would be one funny comedy.
Bless you all for the gift of laughter x

    1. Hi Maz,

I really hope you didn’t do yourself any permanent damage… I’m so glad to hear you liked phoneshop. Janine as a rep โ€“ that’s inspired! I always half-imagined she’d end up in The Apprentice or prison, but I can throw that in the mix now, thank you
      ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you’re all healed now and feeling much better!

      Cheers again,

      Emma x

    1. Hi Georgi!

James said you’d been in touch and how well you were doing โ€“ everyone’s very happy for you! I’m over the moon to hear it all turned out so well
      ๐Ÿ™‚
Phone James if you feel like doing some volunteering โ€“ he’d be very glad of your help!

    1. Hi Jack,
I’m sorry, I don’t โ€“ I bore myself and it’s just not right to inflict that on others

  6. Hello Emma.

I adore you in phone shop.

Now tell me, what was it like at the end of season 1 episode 1 putting on Little Gary’s tie and then going after that hooker man Rochelle Cosby?

I was hoping to see you box that ho.

Is there going to be a season 4 and 5?

    I hope so!

    1. Hello Lee,
I’m so glad you like phoneshop. I’m not sure what would’ve happened after Janine and Rochelle left the shop. I’d like to think – rather than fighting – maybe they made up over a Millie’s jumbo cookie and went browsing for work shirts in topshop…
I’m not sure, but I think another series is unlikely. Look out for Jav’s new show though, it’s bound to be brilliant
      ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks so much for your message,

      Emma x

      1. Hello Emma.

        Thanks for the reply.

Shame phoneshop retired, a bit like when I.T. Crowd finished with the last byte, I cried.

I still say the pilot was the best ever episode and the one with Don the worst.

        Lee

  7. Hi Emma,

Just wanted to say how I love your work, especially in ‘Phone Shop’ you really are quite unique and very beautiful with a wonderful smiley but awkward persona with a sharp and ruthless twistโ€ฆโ€ฆperfect! . I look forward to your next:)

    1. Hi Dan,

Gosh, I’ve gone very red, thank you! I’m in a medical drama at the mo, a bit different from phoneshop โ€“ less comedy, more surgery. If you catch it, I hope you like it
      ๐Ÿ™‚

      Cheers again,

      Emma x

  8. Hi Emma
Do you know if your going to be making phoneshop series 4 anytime soon?
Just watched one of the top british comedies from start to finish on netflix and I am craving more!!!
Can’t seem to find any online info if series 4 is going ahead.
Out of all the characters yours makes me laugh by far the most.
    All the best
    James

    1. Hi James,
Thank you so much! I’ve not heard for sure but I think a 4th series is unlikely I’m afraid. Good news though, Jav’s got a new show starting soon โ€“ The Javone Prince Show โ€“ which is bound to be brilliant
      ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks again for such a lovely message,

      Emma x

    1. Hi Elizabeth,

Aww, that’s really kind, thank you so much! I’m really sorry for the late reply – hope you enjoyed the rest of the series
      ๐Ÿ™‚

      Cheers again,

      Emma x

  9. Home Time is just the greatest. My hopes for series 2 are in crisis. Even if it’s not to be, Please don’t stop writing. Also, please get ’em to find roles for you and Mike Smiley on Utopia. And since we’ll just assume that you’ll do everything I tell you to, how about you and some of your friends come to the states for a stand up tour? I know we send you guys a lot of shitty comics from Los Angeles. How about an exchange program? Come to San Francisco. You can leave Russell Brand at home though, thanks.

    1. Hello Neil,
I’m so glad you liked Hometime, thank you. There won’t be a second series but we’ve got another couple of projects in development and I’m typing with my fingers crossed. Michael Smiley is a good and gifted man. As for Utopia, I recently worked on a project with the sound team who did Utopia โ€“ I followed them around like a puppy, because they were there when that magic was made โ€“ it’s some of the most exciting television I’ve seen in years! Stand up wise, I’m working on new material, but I think I’m a way off LA yet
      ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks again for your lovely message,

      Emma x

  10. Hi Emma
Just thought I’d leave a message to say how much I love you as an actress. Perfect comedic timing and you seem to be such a lovely person!
